Season 2
Rock School sees one of rock music’s biggest legends – fire-breathing, blood-spitting Kiss frontman Gene Simmons - going back to school.
The man famous for his black and white ‘Demon’ facemask, not to mention the longest tongue in rock, has accepted the challenge of turning school children into a rock band.
In series one, Gene taught well-behaved public school kids to rock; this time, it’s a tough comprehensive school and the kids are less than impressed.
“Who the hell do you think you are? I don’t even know who you are”, says schoolgirl Lily. And in Jedda’s summary, “he thinks he’s all that - but he isn’t.”
Gene has a month to create a band good enough to play to 20,000 rock fans in L.A. But with an unimpressed and reluctant class, this is Gene’s biggest challenge yet.
In the second season Gene goes to Kirkley Community High School in Lowestoft, Suffolk, and has to deal with a band that simply won't listen to him.
They initially call themselves No Coment (sic), but Gene later changes the name to Hoax UK.
The band's big gig was to open for Judas Priest and Anthrax in Los Angeles.
Rock School was broadcast in South Africa on BBC Prime, DSTV.
