Season 2
My Boys is an American television sitcom created by Betsy Thomas which follows the fortunes of a female sports columnist in Chicago and the men in her life including her brother, her ex-boyfriend, her best friend and a sportswriter for a rival publication.
Her duties as the host of a regular poker game, manager of her friends' baseball team, and newspaper sportswriter have 28-year-old P.J. Franklin living large in a man's world.
The circle of men that surround her include her henpecked older brother, Andy, Chicago Cubs executive Mike Callahan, sports memorabilia salesman Kenny Moritorri, and Brendan Dorff, a hard rock radio DJ whose frequent break-ups with his girlfriend inevitably land him in P.J.'s guest room.
And when the team needs a new shortstop, into the mix comes Bobby Newman, a sportswriter at a competing paper who, according to P.J.'s best friend, Stephanie, is prime boyfriend material.
Her tomboyish, no-nonsense approach to relationships tends to freak out potential suitors which leads Stephanie to advise her to dress and act more feminine.
Being "one of the guys" can mean a lot of great things: poker games, pick-up softball games, watching sports or just hanging out at a favourite bar.
But for PJ being a girl who's one of the guys can be challenging.
My Boys is from executive producers Betsy Thomas (Run of the House), Jamie Tarses, Gavin Polone (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Gilmore Girls) and Eric Gilliland (Roseanne, That '70s Show).
