The Dr. Oz Show is an American syndicated medical talk show hosted by Dr. Mehmet Oz, a cardiothoracic surgeon and teaching professor at Columbia University who became famous for his appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show from 2004-2009, in which he offers topical newsworthy information and inspiring stories in an upbeat and entertaining format, all from Dr. Oz's unique point of view.
The show, co-produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions and Sony Pictures Television, is the second Oprah spin-off series featuring a regular guest (Dr. Phil being the first).
