Season 3 Synopsis
The makeover show for car enthusiasts is back for another season, with Chip Foose leading the charge to create hot, gorgeous, custom-built cars from old clunkers.
The Overhaulin' team returns to perform ultra high-speed custom makeovers, with stealthy cooperation from friends and family to separate the car from the owner.
Chip is joined by co-hosts and design masters Chris Jacobs and Adrienne 'AJ' Janic to form the expert team of builders who work non-stop until the old, junky vehicles are turned into masterpieces of automobile artwork.
With only a few days and a limited budget to get the job done, the team kicks into gear to get the job finished, all the while keeping the owner guessing as to where the car is while the Overhaulin' is being done.
Format
The show's premise is that an unknowing "victim" (the mark, in the show's language) is nominated to be "Overhauled" by their family or friends (the Insiders).
Their car, usually an old and tired antique car is obtained through some ruse. Such ruses include, but are not limited to:
Stolen (the most common way Overhaulin' separates the car from the mark)
Impounded or towed away
"Misplaced" at a dealership or mechanics shop
While the two co-hosts play games with the unsuspecting mark (sometimes acting in roles of insurance adjusters or law enforcement agents, other times helping the Insider), Chip Foose and a team of top mechanics (dubbed "The A-Team") have a week to remake the car into a custom masterpiece.
Each show ends with the surprise reuniting of owner and newly made-over car.
Cast
Courtney Hansen co-hosted the show with Chris Jacobs for the first two seasons. Adrienne "AJ" Janic - the wife of show producer Bud Brutsman - took over from hansen from Season 3 onwards.
