Season 3
Beter assie Bure is a South African, Afrikaans-language television game show that pits two families against each other in every episode as they participate in fun games with the aim of winning up to R30,000 and being crowned the Beter assie Bure winners.
Family - you spend so much time together, but how well can you rely on people you know?
Beter assie Bure is a family game show that questions exactly this, celebrating the special bonds between family members and friends.
The two families/friends, guided by host Chanelle Davids and resident pianist Rocco de Villiers, compete in six different fun-filled activities in a modern take on traditional parlour games for an Afrikaans-speaking audience.
Four team members - of which two must be related and spanning two generations - compete against another team in a range of games that challenge their general knowledge and music sensibility.
Contestants are also tested on their ability to write lyrics and perform a well known song.
The families are all from the greater Cape Town area – though one team travelled all the way from George to be part of the show.
Asking the questions and and keeping it all together is Vincent Mofokeng, supported by Rocco de Villiers behind the piano.
Beter assie Bure is produced by Okuhle Media. The show's working title was Boelie jou Bure, but this was changed after it was felt the title had a negative connotation.
The executive producer is Wilna van Schalkwyk, with Shirley Crawford serving as a producer. The series was directed by Ivyann Moreira-Schofield, with music by Josh Wynter.
