Season 5
The L Word is an American television drama series created by Michele Abbot, Ilene Chaiken and Kathy Greenberg that portrays the lives of a group of lesbian and bisexual women and their friends, family and lovers in the trendy Los Angeles-area city of West Hollywood.
The series aired in the USA on Showtime from 18 January, 2004 to 8 March, 2009. There are 70 hour-long episodes in six seasons.
The L Word originally premiered in South Africa on M-Net on Thursday 21 October 2004, at 21h30. The first season aired on M-Net, after which the show moved to DStv's M-Net Series channel for the second season onwards. It began airing on Sony Entertainment Television (SET) on 31 December 2007.

The 5th season lead to the mysterious disappearance of Eva "Papi" Torres, as well as the departures of Angus Patridge (who was dumped by Kit), and season four recurring guest stars Paige Sobel (portrayed by Kristanna Loken) and Kate Arden (Annabella Sciorra).
Clementine Ford, daughter of Cybill Shepherd, reprises her role as Phylis Kroll's daughter and begins a relationship with Shane McCutcheon.
Elizabeth Keener joins the show as entrepreneur Dawn Denbo, who starts a rival lesbian bar with her lover Cindi Tucker.
Malaya Rivera Drew and Kate French have been cast for Season 5. Malaya plays Adele, a young fan of Jenny's work who gets hired as her personal assistant, while Kate plays Nikki Stevens, an ambitious young actress who lands the lead role of Jenny's character of Jesse in the movie production 'Lez Girls', which Jenny is planning to direct herself.
The fifth season opens with Shane derailing plans to move in with Paige, then suffering the consequences, while Jenny returns from a Mexican vacation with a billionaire movie financier in tow.
Phyllis has sudden doubts about the exclusivity of her romance with Joyce.
