Season 7
Spooks (also known as MI-5) is a British television drama series created by David Wolstencroft and produced by Kudos for BBC One. The title derives from a popular colloquialism for spies, as the series follows the work of a group of MI5 intelligence officers at Thames House.
The series aired in the UK on BBC One from 13 May, 2002 to 23 October, 2011. There are 86 hour-long episodes in 10 seasons.
Spooks originally premiered in South Africa on SABC3 on Saturday 2 November 2002, at 20h30. Only the first season aired on SABC3. The series later aired on DStv's BBC Entertainment (formerly BBC Prime) and Hallmark channels.

Season 7
Having spent the past eight years in a Russian prison, Lucas North is welcomed back by MI5 supremo and old friend Harry Pearce, who was instrumental in finally securing his release.
Lucas is keen to get back to work straight away and, with Section D's current priority operation having a strong Russian connection, he could well prove invaluable.
But, after eight years with only a high ranking Russian spymaster for company, can Lucas's loyalty really be taken for granted?
Each episode focuses on a different terror threat, but the deepening of the new Cold War with Russia unfolds across the series; over several key episodes the team cross swords with this most menacing of modern foes.
The resulting stories enter into classic espionage territory.
In a world where no-one can be trusted and nothing is secure, the team cannot rely on gadgets or technology to keep them safe, but instead must live by their wits as they face their most ingenious and determined enemies yet.
Spin-Off
Following the success of the BBC Three Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood, the controller of BBC Three, Julian Bellamy, announced a Spooks spin-off entitled Spooks: Code 9 in December 2006. The show premiered in the UK on 10 August, 2008.
