With more glitz and glamour, an all-star line-up of celebrities and fresh blood in the professional dancers, Strictly Come Dancing is set to warm up those winter nights for 10 weeks beginning with the Season 8 premiere on Friday 5 June 2015, at 19h30.
Katlego Maboe and Roxy Burger return to host their second season along with the judging panel made up of Michael Wentink, Tebogo Kgobokoe and Samantha Peo.
The line-up of celebrity competitors this season is as follows:
Bridget Masinga
Entertainment personality who first rose to fame as 2nd runner-up in the 2002 Miss South Africa contest, before going on to act and present on television and radio.
Gary Botha
Former Blue Bulls and Springbok hooker who was a member of the squad that won the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Jason Goliath
Actor and comedian best known for his role as Gatiep, a resident in the Sandton apartment block, in the SABC1 sitcom Ses'Top La.
Karlien van Jaarsveld
Afrikaans pop singer who was nominated for a Best Pop Album (Afrikaans) SAMA Award in 2014 for her album Uitklophou.
Leigh-Anne Williams
Radio and television presenter and actress best known for her work on Good Hope FM's Afternoon Drive Show and as a host of the SABC3 breakfast show Expresso.
Nkululeko Tshirumbula
Actor best known for his role as smooth-talkin' charmer Gundo Mukwevho on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango.
Pearl Modiadie
Metro FM DJ who is also the host of the #1-rated talk show Zaziwa, on SABC1.
Siya "Slikour" Metane
Rapper and entertainer best known as one of the founding members of the record-breaking hip hop group Skwatta Kamp.
Stanton "Stiga" Fredericks
Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder, who retired from football in 2013.
Sureshnie Rider
Radio personality and motivational speaker best known for hosting the 5FM Top 40.
Putting the celebrities through their paces will be a team of professional dancers that consists of Grant Louis Esterhuizen, Obed Katlego Mofoleng, Johannes Radebe, Devon Snell, Dennis Sifiso Maseko, Nombulelo Hlathi, Jeanné Michelle Swart, Michelle Leigh Oppenshaw, Erin Musson and Samantha Bele Viana.
The show broadcasts weekly on SABC3 from the Renaissance Centre as the dance couples compete against each other to impress a panel of judges and the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination.
