SABC3's corporate drama The Lab ended its first season on 26 September, taking with it the number one ranking on TVSA for September as rated by readers of the website.
Although The Lab steadily gained viewers during the course of its 13 episodes it never blew the
TAMS ratings apart.
Yet TVSA readers appreciated the quality of writing, acting and production, giving it an overall aggregate rating of 87.
Although it joined the Top 10 South African shows list in first place when it premiered,
Survivor South Africa: Panama flattened out and currently has a rating of 85, making it the second-most appreciated local show on TVSA.
SABC2's
Noot Vir Noot was bumped from fourth place to sixth by SABC3's
Healing Power Of Nature.

M-Net's late-night drama Rome debuted on the Top 10 Shows Overall list in September in first place, deposing August's number one ranked show, My Name Is Earl.
Rome is currently way out in front with a rating of 94, followed by 24 and My Name Is Earl on 90 each.
For the first month since TVSA has been compiling the show ratings a South African show made it into the Overall Top 10 - The Lab's 87 was good enough to make it the 9th-best show currently on South African TV, out of all shows - foreign or local - that are broadcast, according to TVSA readers.

About The TVSA Ratings
The TVSA Ratings are compiled monthly and are based on the highest-rated television shows and actors as rated by readers of TVSA.
It is important to note that the ratings are not yet a true reflection of all shows airing on South African television - they are based on the shows TVSA has in its database.
TVSA currently has 917 shows and 5564 actors in its database, and the TVSA Ratings are taken from these shows and actors.
Only registered members of TVSA may rate shows and systems are in place to prevent ratings abuse. Only shows or actors with a minimum of five unique user ratings are included.
An aggregate of ratings makes up the overall rating of a show or actor, and in cases where two shows have the exact same aggregate they are ordered by the show with the most number of individual ratings.
