We came a long way!!!

I just wanted to tell you that we came a long way in the past 10 or 15yrs. We may not have experienced the same upbringing but most of us experienced the same things while growing up. Here are some of the things you should compare, how they are done today compared to 15ys back.

Television
- I remember we used to have like 3 tv’s the whole street, some of the people who owned them used to make us pay to watch Story or even worse we were made to watch through the window but for iStory we would do anything but today every household has one and they are even making their way into our bedrooms, so it is no longer a fuss to watch Tv and I don’t think there is anyone who can pay to watch it.

Clothing
- who can forget we had some clothes we had to wear only on Sundays, who can forget Pepe, Delela, Strip-shirts, Those are the kind of things which we bought to wear on Christmas and New year, and don’t want to talk about the shoes we wore, please show me someone wearing a Delela then I will show you a snow in Musina.

Cell-Phones
- I remember the time when I thought everyone having a cell was rich, they will the buy their 2110 a purse they put it on their belts for everyone to see, who can forget the 5110 and 3310 evolution, these are the two phones which took Sa by storm, today even a 11year old has a wap enabled phone.

Jola
- At around six you were hearing all kinds of fleits, I remember I knew my sister’s boyfriend’s fleit and I was the first one to go out and collect my 50c from him. Today everyone o a jola and you still using fleit you will date nobody.

Alcohol
- the only ciders they had was Crown, Crossbow and hunters Gold and who can forget Chikoto but today we are spoiled for choice.

-the are many things you can think of which have changed dramatically in a space of 15yrs, what can we think of which make us proud to be SA citizens.

Talk about clothing: When i look at my old photos i laugh. In those days if u didn' wear Kicks or Spice u were really behind. I mean those shoes are awful but hey we wore them. The hang out spots: We didn't really have i clubs then, but u-Coke always came through 4 us with his Waya-Waya truck. I remember there was this cider i-Solantis Spice which tasted like Ginger beer, i wonder what happend to it. But the one that tops it off: Is paying i-20c for watching i-movie and he he he 50c for i B/Movie and that one was for the older guys.
