Confessions Of A Failed Weather Girl

As you may or may not know I've always wanted to be a weather girl. There are various reasons for it but my main inspiration has been the best weather anchor in the world aka CNN's Femi Oke.

With the news that e.tv's new 24-hour news service was looking for weather anchors I decided the time had arrived to realise my dream by becoming one myself so I applied for a weather girl job.

I filled in the application form, sent through pics and filmed a video as an audition.

e.tv's new news service launches as a new channel on DStv in May/June - e's already started their new morning breakfast show Sunrise to tie in with it - and the deadline for job applications was 31st January.

The application form said that if you hadn't heard within two months you weren't successful - which I haven't - so I'm unfortunately not.

My only consolation to my shattered dream is that I studied the weather fiercely for at least two weeks before applying so I now know exactly what the maps and those symbol things mean.

I thought you'd have some fun seeing the failed audition - I couldn't get hold of a map for the background so I used Table Mountain instead. Here it is:

Looking back I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have badmouthed the weather service, LOL!

It's a pity I can't see your map........maybe that's why they didn't respond on your application, you sent them a blank attachment.

LMBAO!!! OOOOOOOOOHHH Tashi! Don't give up on your dream, my dear... It will all come! E-tv doesn't know what they missed out on - a gem! It is most definitely THEIR loss, not yours...

How about you apply for the Omag editorship? I am certain you are the perfect person for it as you won't take any nonsense from the Raphaely ladies...

Hi everyone - thnks for the kind words! Re- the vid. dunno what's up - had a look and it seems it's a problem with YouTube - it's alternating between being playable and then saying it's not available.

A weather update:) - it's a gorge day in Cape Town - sunny, fresh, no wind and noo winter yet - hoping it never arrives!
