Tired of city life? Looking for love? Ever dreamt of your own story on an African farm? Then tune into kykNET on Monday, 14 July at 20h00 when the candidates of the channel's new reality show Boer Soek ‘n Vrou will be announced.
kykNET has selected 10 single, energetic and dynamic farmers from 200 entries to participate in the show. The candidates will be introduced on Monday night, as well as in next week’s issues of Landbouweekblad and Huisgenoot.
Based on the international reality format Farmer Wants A Wife, the show aims to matchmake couples with the idea of everyone hooking up - preferebly in pairs of two.
The key matchmaker of show will be Elma Postma, who'll also be presenting.
Elma's already met all 10 farmers and seems impressed.
“I think there is a farmer for every woman’s taste," she says. "There are true gems, hidden all over our country. They are handsome, intelligent and have hearts of gold.”
Theo Erasmus, kykNET’s general manager, says Boer Soek ‘n Vrou will bring a new dimension to reality TV. “We would like to find a life partner for each of our farmers. This series will be filmed with compassion and we believe that these farmers’ search for someone to love will enthrall viewers."
Following Monday night’s introduction, single South Africans will have two weeks to write a romantic loveletter to the farmer of their choice.
The closing date for the letters is 28 July 2008. Based on the latters they recieve, each farmer will choose 10 potential partners who they'll get to know better through the show.
