Gossip in the workplace is prevalent. Outside the workplace, discussions on who has done or said what lately dominate conversations over cup of coffee, dinner and chats with friends.
In townships, juicy gossip and making other people’s business ‘yours’ is at another level, it’s what makes townships or villages interesting. When you visit home, hours are set aside to update you about who is dead or suspected to be pregnant or to be the father of so and so’s baby etc.
Now in the workplace, how do you deal with gossip? Constructive criticism is necessary for growth. However, individuals define constructive criticism differently, what I might view positive & constructive, might not be to another person.
It’s another story when it involves your direct superior/supervisor. Has anyone been in trouble before for allegedly gossiping about your supervisor, colleague etc. how did you deal with it
