South Africa is about to get its first (and long overdue) fashion magazine television show, AFRICAN COUTURE. The 26-episode show puts the focus firmly on African fashion in a way that provides non-stop, stylish and sophisticated television viewing for anyone with a passion for fashion.
The 30-minute weekly show is over-flowing at the seams with inserts that take in fashion news, profiles, African and global fashion, designers, models, commentary from experts and opinion-makers, celebrities, brands, up-and-coming faces on the scene, trend updates, fashion and beauty tips, insights from fashion insiders, all-access behind-the-scenes moments, competitions and a regular (and ever-changing) countdown.
AFRICAN COUTURE is shot in high definition on location, and will not feature any anchor presenter. The focus to be on the models, the designers, the celebrities and all aspects of the fashion business, rather than an individual. So with inserts that look at fashion disasters as well as high points, here’s fair warning to the country’s celebrities to start taking extra care: there’s no telling when the camera will snap them! And the country’s models, designers and more can now look forward to a world-class platform to showcase their talents.
These are just some of the many visual pleasures and entertaining elements that make up the show - South Africa’s only, and most forward thinking, fashion magazine show. It is produced by Cape Town-based Clockwork Zoo.
* AFRICAN COUTURE makes its debut on Saturday September 6th at 18h30 on SABC3. You don't want to miss it!
