The Lost PyramidOn: Saturday, 13 September 2008 at 20h30
The Lost Pyramid is a documentary special that sheds light on recent archaeological discoveries located in a high security military zone, whose significance looks set to re-write the history books.
The three pyramids of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, are the greatest buildings of antiquity - the Great Pyramid stood as the tallest structure on Earth for 4,000 years.
But now and for the very first time on TV, The Lost Pyramid captures and reveals the impressive remains of a fourth pyramid, that was once more magnificent than even the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The result of 12 years of excavations led by an international team of experts headed by Dr. Zahi Hawwas - the Head of Egyptian Antiquities - sees evidence of how ancient Egypt's most powerful family, the Khufu dynasty, managed to build something extraordinary.
Working in a high security zone they brushed away the desert and revealed the magnificent remains of a unique lost pyramid.
