My heart skipped a beat when I read that the irritating Khanyisile Mbau might go back to MuVhango, the SABC 2 soap/drama or lonto iyiyo. Honestly I’m not the biggest fan of the show and their storyline doesn’t sit well with me, but the sight of Mbau is enough to send me to the bathroom to trumpet.
According to the story on the Sowetan website, rumour in celebville is rife that the “Queen of Bling” might be re-instated back to her former role of Doobsie. MuVhango producer, Duma ka Ndlovu, has been tight-lipped about the matter while Mbau manager, Malcom X hinted that the rumour might be true.
However, Mbau said she would love to go back to the show.
I bet she would.
After all, her music venture failed to get off the ground and hanging with Arthur Mafokate and his skanky cheerleader (aka Chomee) won’t guarantee her a hit (not even the strongest Sangoma from Transkei or Emampondweni can help her on that).
If my memory serves me correctly, Doobsie’s character was permanently scratched off after the death of Lindiwe Chibi, who originally played Doobsie died last year. This was followed by the sacking of Khabonina Qubeka who was playing Doobsie at the time of Chibi’s death.
“Generally at the moment we are not looking to continue with Doobsie as our focus is on Lindiwe and honouring her legacy,” said Ndlovu in an interview last year.
Duma ka Ndlovu thinks bringing Mbau back wouldn’t be an intelligent thing to do. This girl was trouble from the start when she joined MuVhango a few years ago. She was sacked after she went AWOL, opting to go on a shopping spree overseas rather than to be onset like the rest of the cast. She chose to be the diva and brought the production into disrepute.
Since then, her escapades have been the daily bread of Sunday tabloids. She married a man 30 years her senior who later accused her of being a gold-digger. He even klapped her in public, putting her in her rightful place. She was later involved in silly squabbles that unsecured teenage girls would normally get into when they hear their friends are after their boyfriends.
Mbau must just come down, take a chill-pill and down it with a cupful of “shut-the-f**k- up”.
Hev a gr8 day bloggers.
I’m out
