Tjo...November 1st came at last for the finals of
So Yo Think You Can Dance South Africa, what an amazing show it was. About a week ago I declared my love for this show and my so called crush on Elizma, I actually take back those words ( will tell you later why) and that managed to get me an invite to the Grand Finale held at the Standard Bank Arena. Well I was not alone went along with my gal Beyonce which reminds me that I found myself with 2 extra VIP tickets unused damn I guess its the last minute arrangements otherwise I could have given them away. Thing is I got 2 tickets approved and due to miscommunication it was even better as I had 4 and access to the stage for the photographer. I was not allowed to go to the stage to take pics because I was VIP and had to have a camera person not to play both which is why you wont find too many pics here.
So You Think You Can Dance!
For first timers at the Standard Bank Arena it didn't look like an easy way to get there with everyone saying its next to a stadium which had like 3 different names. Thanks to Laura from Total exposure who called and offered directions even when we were already sorted, on the arrival the first person to spot was Zama Ncobo in her 1 series looking too cute nje. The parking area was full of the supporters, friends and family of others. Thabiso's friends and family were spotting
'Thabiso the Dance King t shirts' shem am sure they were as disappointed as I think Carino was nonetheless he is a marvelous dancer and I loved his speech that 'Dancing is what he does best' oh so cute and emotional. We got our tickets at the registration desk all thanks to Linda who BTW tjeer am I allowed to write this? She is God Damn HOT
*sigh* SA has the hottest women if you ask me and you wont spot them on TV which would make me wonder how....ok let me not go there maybe next time,so made our way to the VIP area. I must say this
'Total Exposure is doing a great job when it comes to live television shows' well am not sure if its just them but the very same camera crew conducting Strictly Come Dancing were doing SYTYCD wow well done guys as all shows are LIVE.
Next to us was the screaming Lorcia Cooper, I should say there was some kind of wireless connection between us because I found myself screaming more than her.She really was supporting Elizma and she brought her potris along which takes us back to me taking back my
'crush' words damn the woman is strong as an ox well maybe not an ox considering how ugly it is and she looked stunning with hubby the choreographer and the daughter aow too cute. Seemed like it was a couples VIP area except of the annoying ladies who sat next to me, also spotted Brandon of SCD with the reason behind that long surname or atleast I hope it was the real reason LOL. Bathong Pepsi Pokane has the hottest wife ever as short and cute as Zizo Beda but you could just see that she is a grown woman. Ok back to the show I loved the solos infact they were the most amazing and entertaining ever, when Elizma performed it was so emotional that like Lorcia I dropped a few tears damn am glad I was wearing a cap imagine TDC crying in front of all those people I bet Beyonce didnt even notice right Bey?
The dancers on stage with the
WINNER!
Oh and Megan was there...God Damn after watching her perform it took me back to Harold's words a few weeks ago. I really think should have South African's and Harold included voted she would have walked with the crown anyhow I hope to see her in the music video's. The judges were asked what were their favorite performances through out the season and I must say David Matamela's choice was also my favorite mara none the less those dancers just rock, sometimes I wish I knew how to move my body like that. I had always had the confidence that Elizma was taking home the crown but on the do or die day I found myself not knowing who was really going to win. I had always been Ash supporter all season I just loved the way he moves and with Thabiso being a strong character is he is I was just praying hard that Elizma would win the crown because she had a huge following if you ask me.Still I enjoyed the dancing we were exposed to and before I forget people I saw Spykos well I know he features on City Sesla but this time he was giving sweets during ad breaks and oh before the show started he just showed how disrespectful he can get ' he was talking to the crowd about safety measures and all I was so surprised and disappointed as he said 'voetsek man you can do better than that' yeah something along those lines dude that wasnt funny mxxnm.
I think that was the most boring thing/moment about the show on the day. Loyiso Bala was singing his latest single from his album, also spotted former Miss SA Teen Zizo Beda looking beautiful as she was filming for Selimathunzi thought I would spot RGB but hell no anyway you never know with SABC it was probably for both shows. On our way out we met with Bathembu and friends...
I loved the performances, performers, the judges, the audience and the crew, the reception we got and DAMN how can I not mention this the food was great. As y'all know Elizma took home the crown which consists of
R190 000 in cash and a car which reminds me why didn't they bring her the big cheque on stage? Ok maybe on the next season thanks for the invite guys, thanks to the
TVSA bosses,my partner and the organizers for such a successful show. Saturdays will NEVER be the same.
CONGRATULATIONS to Elizma.
