The
audition rounds are over, the finalists have spent the past two weeks learning to sing in Jozi (hopefully!) and the time has arrived for the start of Idols 5.
The show premieres this Sunday, 1 February at 17h30 and kicks off with coverage of the Cape Town auditions.
On Monday, 2 February at 19h00 it continues with the Durban auditions.
The Monday night show - which traditionally begins later in the season for the announcement of Results once the voting begins - will now be a regular weekly fixture from the start of the season.
Before the show gets to the performance stage and results, it will showcase further auditions as well as extra footage filmed on location in each city.
If the two-hours a week doesn't drive you out of your mind you can go over the edge 24-hours a day if you like. After Sunday's premiere an
Idols Extra 24/7 channel launches on DStv Channel 198 which will feature all the audition footage filmed from auditions everywhere - if you auditioned you
will be featured.
The channel will be updated week-to-week so that every audition gets shown.
