Last night's episode of SPEAK OUT was rather a time-waisting episode for me. Considering the fact that i wanted to write to speak out and a fellow blogger(wink wink @ Toxic) kinda adviced against it, her reason being i shouldn't waste the team's time. But after last night's episode i felt like my case was strong enough to be featured there..
Dosto(pictured above) Was made to go all the way from his offices with his crew because some woman by the name of Martha from Shoshanguve Block F wanted her R300??? WTF???
A R300 that she paid in an illegal, corrupt dealing.. she still had a nerve to go to tv about it??
Martha was introduced to LONG, the guy who was selling food parcel vouchers woth R1010 for R300 by her brother.
This food parcel vouchers are given by sassa to families still waiting on their grants, they are a temporary thing and you can only get them for 3 months.
Martha had information that LONG was getting this vouchers from some lady who worked for SASSA whereas LONG later said he gets the vouchers from people who are selling them for R400 or R500 and he comes and sell them for R300?? That accordin to me was a lie because what profit is he making? instead he is lossing in the process. and why is it that this food parcel vouchers come with the people who bought them for R300's ID numbers and not the real/original owners of vouchers. Why would anyone sell a R1010 voucher for R400/R500 and not buy food worth that money instead??
It turned out Martha knew a lot of people who had been helped by LONG, hence her and her sisters put their children's grant together to make the R300 for the voucher. He would come and take your ID number and address and the voucher comes in your name. How come?? werent they printed the original owner's name & address?? How do they change them to a new buyer's details??
I dont know what happened that made LONG refund his clients
To me it seemed like LONG's supplier chickened out and he had to refund the people their R300 but not Martha.
LONG denied ever receiving money from Martha, so she never got her money it the end
Dosto then visited CHIPILE store, where this vouchers are used for food, and the guy in the store yena said they only sell to the real owners of the vouchers because they have to bring their ID's. Which to me semed true because the R300 food parcel vouchers buyers provide their ID numbers and addresses before they receive the vouchers.
He then went to the SASSA Head offices to speak to someone there who explained how this food parcel vouchers work, i thought he was going to report the matter and LONG was going to be forced to say who does he work with at SASSA but no he didnt.
I still feel there is more to this story than people just selling their food parcel vouchers, Dosto should have investigated!!!
People if you are going to partake in illegal, shady dealings involving money know that you are taking a risk and you cant report your matter to any authorities should the deal turn sour. I have tried it, lost a precious R3500 but then i didnt have a right to report the matter because i knew what i was doing was illegal. Just cry it out of your system and then you will be able to accept it and move on.
I couldnt believe this woman wasted 30 minutes of airtime for R300?? i understand its child support grants but haiye maan. Am sure we have more pressing issues to deal with.
Excuse my grammar and spelling mistakes, i am stilling company time and dont have much time to spell check and correct grammar mistakes.
