After last week's dismal Frank Sinatra show, it's going to take a
lot for this week's Top 4 showdown to be worse. Singing songs from movies already gives things a more positive vibe that should have happened weeks ago.
What irritated me most about last week's fiasco is how the judges blather on and
on that everyone needs to make the songs current and relevant blah blah - only to give them a theme where it's
impossible to do. There is NO way to make Sinatra Now.
Songs from movies is more do-able so let's hope we'll see something worth hearing. Jamie Foxx will be mentoring the foursome who'll each be singing a solo and a duet.
What they'll be piping:
Lee - Kiss from a Rose by Seal from Batman Forever
Michael - Will You Be There by Michael Jackson from Free Willy
Casey - Mrs. Robinson by Simon & Garfunkel from The Graduate (
argh, yet another barfly song that you can only enjoy when you're too drunk to notice.).
Crystal - I'm Alright by Kenny Loggins from Caddyshack
Duets:Crystal and Lee - Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová from Once.
Michael and Casey - Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman? by Bryan Adams from Don Juan DeMarco (Mmmm, it's gonna be verry awkward seeing them singing it to each other. Casey's gonna be the woman natch.)
Must-be-whacked-mojo-curse:Who I want GONE: Casey. I know he's improved a bit and has a good-ish voice when he manages to connect with the songs, but I honestly just can't take him anymore.
