'Bridget Jones 3' has been given the go-ahead.
The follow-up to 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and 'Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason' - which tells the story of wine-loving 30-something singleton who eventually finds love - has been talked about for some time but now its star Renee Zellweger has been told she will not have to pile on the pounds like she did in the fast two, she has agreed to sign up.
A source said: "Renee had no reservations about saying yes once she found out she wouldn't have to get fat. She hated having to do that in the last two films."
As well as Renee reprising her role as Bridget, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant - who play her love interests Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver respectively - are also set to sign up and scriptwriters are planning a big twist between the three main characters.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Colin is really keen on a third film. He thinks it will be a great flick to get his teeth into after all the success with 'The King's Speech', as it's so different. He's getting very excited about the idea of marriage and kids in the script now all the characters are older."
Ideas floating around include Bridget getting pregnant but is not sure whether long-term boyfriend Mark is the father or ex-flame Daniel.
