In the suspense thriller, Gone, Jill Parrish (Amanda Seyfried) comes home from a night shift to discover her sister Molly (Emily Wickersham) has been abducted. Jill, having escaped from a kidnapping a year before, is convinced that the same serial killer has come back and taken Molly.
The police think Jill is crazy and are unwilling to use their resources to help her. Afraid that Molly will be dead by sundown, she sets out alone on a heart-pounding chase to find the killer, expose his secrets and save her sister.
Jill isn’t judged by Detective Peter Hood (Wes Bentley) as one with a lose grip on reality, which is what everyone else has labeled her. He’s almost instantly infatuated with her and believes in her sanity. He’s completely sympathetic to her story.
Where others see craziness in her, he’s genuinely interested in trying to help her figure out what actually happened in her past and now, to her sister. Of course it helps that he’s attracted to Jill. And right away he’s invested in her plight. But is love blind?
Jill has gotten so much rejection and cynicism as she tried to get people to believe her that she does not trust anyone, including the one person willing to give her the benefit of a doubt, as she goes through clues and memories to find her sister.
I was on the edge of my seat throughout the movie, as I am not a fan of scary movies, so will give this a 4/5 segs stars. For those that love thrillers, there is not a lot of blood and gore in this movie.
The movie starts at Nu metro theaters from the 1st June 2012.
