Welcome back Rapulana |
Goodbye Jo-Anne |
Word of Mouth Pictures and SABC2 are delighted to announce the return of Meme played by Tsholo Monedi and Pheko Mokoena played by Rapulana Seiphemo.
The actors return to the soapie when Season 14 begins production in two weeks time.
Rapulana Seiphemo will reprise his role as Pheko, to claim what rightfully belongs to him, while Tsholo Monedi returns for a recurring arc as the villainous Meme.
SAFTA nominee Rapulana Seiphemo is a seasoned actor having started his career in theatre and moving to television in the late 90’s to become one of the country’s top rated actors. Recently he starred in Skeem and How to Steal Two Million. He also produced the locally acclaimed film White Wedding.
Tsholo Monedi is best known to television viewers as Meme in Muvhango but the bubbly actress is also a stage actress. Her most recent work includes The Lion King stage production where she played the role of Nala.
“Both actors possess all of the intensity and charisma required for television soapies and we are thrilled to welcome them back to our screens," says Muvhango publicist, Kgalema Eugene Mametse.
As Muvhango gears itself for Season 14 viewers will no longer have the pleasure of seeing the bubbly receptionist, Pearl (Jo-Anne Reyneke) as Pearl will be leaving the soapie at the end of Season 13 to pursue other interests.
Thadaza’s nephew Spha (Phila Mazikbuko) will be available to the production on a call basis.
Muvhango publicist, Kgalema Eugene Mametse confirmed Jo-anne’s departure: “This remarkable young actress will be missed by the production for her tenacity and energy. Muvhango Season 14 will bring audiences scintillating storylines, compelling roles and our loyal viewers will continue to be fascinated by what we have in store for them."
