The Democratic Alliance on Thursday welcome the suspension of the Gauteng Economic Development Department Head Khulu Radebe.
"Last year the DA raised the Red Flag over the Department's failure to place 10,000 youth in Jobs due to budegetan constrants and delays in setting up the programme management OFACE" said the DA MPL Jack Blom on thursday.
Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane has final realed a statement saying Gauteng Economic Development Department's Khulu Radebe has been suspended for non-Performance and lack of accountability on same of the key Youth Development Programmes.
This comes after several youth employment project and interpreneurship development programmes have collapse.
Mokonyane also reinforced that she would continue to act against non-performance.
"we also remain commited to serve our people deligently and ensure that we delivery on the mandate given by majority of the residence on this province" said Nonkonyane.
Wersten Cape Secretary of The South African Youth Council, Andile Ndevu said "whilst the President Minister and Premier talk about Youth Development in their budget speech's people people like Khulu Radebe hamstrung process, he is an embarrassment to be fired for doing your job is a serious embarrassment to any public servant"
khulu Radebe refused to comment on anything releted to his suspension.
The Department Spokesperson, Phindile Kunene, said she could not comment on Khulu Radebe's suspension, the matter is still under investigation.
