One Sunday night in Mayfair, charismatic West-Jozi gang-star Scarra and his two sidekicks, wizened Judas and new kid on the block, Mafikizolo, jack a new 3 series BMW out of a parking lot where a wedding is taking place.
When handsome, brooding Detective Phaka fastens onto the file, he presses Schoeman, the Commander of the local police station, to give him and his no-nonsense forensic partner, Kea Thole, the case.
Phaka is determined to crack it open as his long-gestating promotion hinges on it. Scarra stole the car, because he knows wheel-chair bound Bonsai, the neighbourhood Godfather, will pay good money for it. He celebrates his payday by spending time with his working-girl girlfriend, Shirley Dlamini.
Using ingenious methods, Phaka and Kea identify who the main suspects are but without any real firm evidence fail to make it stick. Schoeman, mid-stream, suddenly tells them to drop the case altogether.

In a dodgy back alley, Shirley is attacked by her pimp Stevovo for skipping a shift, when middle-men Georgie and Shona show up and stab him to death and steal the brick of cocaine he had on him.
Shirley witnesses the murder but manages to get away. Traumatised by the night’s events, Shirley finds herself confiding in Scarra about the murder and gives him an eyewitness report of the two killers. Scarra goes off to find them.
Meanwhile a resourceful Phaka and Kea identify the make and description of the killers’ car. They source the location of the vehicle to outside Scarra’s compound.
A terrified Shirley finds herself inside the house - as Georgie and Shona lurk outside. She’s a witness and they want her dead.

A disgruntled Judas, who feels Scarra is underpaying and undervaluing him, decides to take matters into his own hands by orchestrating a heist behind his boss’s back.
Through sheer ingenuity, Judas manages to get away with the Fah-Fee lottery winnings after waylaying a Fah-Fee Chinese Controller, YI SHENG, and his van. Judas shoots him in the shoulder before he gets away.
Phaka suspects Scarra is behind the heist, but when he confronts him at a local tavern, he realizes Scarra had nothing to do with it. Phaka does succeed in planting a seed of doubt in Scarra about the loyalty of his right hand men. Fuelled by this doubt Scarra confronts first Judas and later Mafikizolo.
They both plead ignorance. Ironically, Scarra ends up believing Judas more than he does Mafikizolo.
