Another episode of Survivor Champions and yet again, more food for all. I give up.
Both tribes raced against each other to retrieve certain items from the jungle while chained to each other. Team work was critical and in the end, both tribes ended up with more food in the form of fruit platters because Nico effectively declared the challenge a draw. I have been praising the challenges this season but this one was bit of a yawn fest quite frankly.
Overall, I found this episode to be quite bizarre actually. I think we’ve reached the stage of the game where the tide starts to turn. Unexpected and unpredictable behavior rises to the surface. The stressful strain of the game really starts to take its toll and it is almost impossible to be level-headed all of the time.
Confusingly, Marian, Shane and Stephen are energetically battling it out for the “I am in control of this game” title. Marian has a point though when she says that Stephen is quite happy for everyone around him to engage in morally questionable activities that benefit him only to then try and lobby to all that his hands are clean. The guy driving the getaway vehicle for a team of bank robbers is just as guilty of bank robbery Stephen. Just FYI.
There are so many Idols floating around, one would think that these contestants auditioned as singers for the wrong show. I am flabbergasted that Stephen has not even slightly suspected that Marian and Shane have a hidden immunity idol. He has so many theories about this idol! Buhle has it. No Sonnette has it. No Mark has it. No Nico has it. The most obvious theory is staring him in the face!
Marian is a fantastic actress and has managed to convincingly play innocent about having an idol. Give that girl a Bells!!
Sonnette had me seeing red!! I feel as though she did exactly what Zan did. She quit. Why on earth did she take the idol, come up with an awesome plan to save herself, and then put the idol back in the trunk?
I marked her as a floater last week and she unfortunately proved me right when she said that she is always on the outside watching everyone else. Therein lies the problem. Survivor is not a spectator’s sport girl! You cannot sit on the side and watch what’s going on. You need to actually play the game!!
Stealing is common place this season and it is apparently acceptable in your tribe to do that so why on earth did she put that idol back? She had a great plan to save herself and get rid of Stephen or anyone else but instead she quit by agreeing to be voted out. I know this game beats your body up a little bit but the whole thing was highly irritating.
Sivu is most certainly taking an interesting approach to strategy in this game. He claims to have convinced everyone that he is on their side. Now, if that was a winning strategy I would applaud it however it makes me nervous.
Besides Boston Rob, nobody has ever won this game by playing both sides because they always get caught. Additionally this is the same person who found an idol without a clue and then put it back so I am not sure that he has his wits about him enough to pull this one off. Good luck to Sivu though because he is not in a bad position right now.
One player who has become almost difficult to read is Solly. He clearly stated that his strategy is to win challenges. I have repeatedly said that that gets you voted out come merge time faster than you spell the word win.
However, he has this really great charm about him that his strength is almost overlooked. So his future is up in the air for me. My advice would be to stop trying to be the hero. Nobody wants to sit next to the hero in the end.
Next week’s reward challenge is very similar to a challenge we did in my season. Incidentally, my tribe actually won that challenge and we had a blast doing it! We did not win food though. I am betting their reward will be food. AGAIN. Just saying.
Catch up with all of you next week!!
