Rami Chuene will play Khomotjo Mojalefa
We have it on high record that Rami Chuene (previously with Scandal!) and bra Owen Sejake have joined Muvhango. The two are part of the soapie’s mission to introduce a new family to the show. Rami plays stepmother to Busani (Siyabonga Twala) while bra Owen plays Busani’s father.
Joining them is Thembi Mtshali-Jones of 'Sgudi 'Snaysi and Stokvel fame. Thembi is playing Busani’s mother. Also part of the new family is John Morapama who will play Busani’s little brother.
Owen Sejake will play Phatudi Mojalefa
Owen will play Phatudi Mojalefa, Thembi will play Phathudi’s ex-wife Nandi Mojalefa while Rami will play Khomotjo Mojalefa, Phathudi’s younger wife who was, before marrying Phathudi, his secretary - he left his wife and married his younger and sassy secretary, TVSA understands.
We also understand John Morapama will play Busani’s brother. We were however not able to establish his character name. What we do know is that he just started filming about a week ago while Rami et al have been filming for a couple of weeks now. We also understand the show is also looking for a Mojalefa brother and casting will be finalised soon.

“The show is now doing away with the Mokoena's and it is introducing a new family,” says my source who is privy to the information at the soapie. However, upon further investigation, TVSA found the Mokoena's will still be part of the show. The Mojalefa's will however be the major rivals against the Mukwevho's and will constantly lock horns at the Mukwevho Holdings with the Mukwevho's.
“The soapie is currently doing well in terms of ratings and they want to increase them. One of the ways of achieving that is by attracting new characters who have experience in the industry,” says another source.
“The show is really excited about the new actors, especially the injection of Rami Chuene on the soapie which is good news not only for the actor [think money] and the show but for Northern Sotho [Sepedi] speakers who currently have no representation on the show though Muvhango is on SABC 2.”
TVSA understands the family will be introduced very early in September when they come to Joburg to be part of a major storyline. Remember where you read it first.
