I spent Tuesday evening catching up on episodes of Lindsay on Vuzu and I'm 100% hooked. It's turned out to be a mindbending series because one moment you're on Lindsay's side, the next you're annoyed and very unimpressed by her and the next you're defending her.
When it first started I was on Team Lindsay completely. In fact, she could do no wrong in my eyes but, five episodes in, that's changed obviously. I've now decided that I really like her except for one big problem: her disregard for others when it comes to being late and not showing up for things. I don't like this at all. I've always thought that people over-exaggerated her behaviour but it's clear that they haven't - because even she admits it.
The trouble is it's a big blight on her reputation with me because not arriving on time is passive aggressive apparently. I read this somewhere ... a psychology article or something said that arriving late - or not at all - is passive aggressive and it really freaked me out so Lindsay's behaviour doesn't work for me at all.
That said, it doesn't mean I'm not on her side when it comes to that terrible Life Coach of hers AJ. Urgh! Yet another quack who wants to make a quick buck off a troubled celebrity. She totally manipulated Lindsay into that conversation about drinking and sobriety.
Their conversation convinced me that AJ built up a relationship with Lindsay off-camera which was slightly different to the one they have on-camera and got Lindsay trusting her. Once Lindsay trusted her - wham! - she broke the trust with the low blow question about her sobriety on-camera, knowing she didn't want to talk about it.
With the full consent of director Amy Rice I'm assuming. While Lindsay and AJ had those awkwaaaaard moments across the table from each other I couldn't help picturing Amy Rice hovering, encouraging AJ to keep going.
I must say ... I'm very iffy about what we've seen of her so far. I'm feeling as if she rolls her eyes at Lindsay a lot and wants us to too. Like that moment when she was in the lift and Lindsay wanted the crew to leave after all her stuff arrived - the way Amy looked at the camera and the things she said to Lindsay's manager Mark, it was as if she was acting to get a response out of him and us.
I wasn't sure at the beginning but now I don't trust her either.
