Press Release
SABC2’s “WHAT’S BEHIND THE WALL?” TO PUT SA ON THE SPOT
SABC2 is excited to announce the debut of our newest exciting game show
What’s Behind The Wall? on the 1
st September 2014.
What’s Behind The Wall? will be broadcast Mondays and Tuesdays at 7pm, introducing the channel’s new prime time entertainment slot.
Hosted by Generations actor and theatre performer,
Thato Molamu, What’s Behind The Wall? tests contestants’ general knowledge of events. The host takes control facilitating the game making sure that he is in sync with the playful style and comic elements of the questions. He constantly communicates with the voice of the Wall as the clues are revealed poking fun at contestants creating a more relaxed interaction.
In every episode of What’s Behind the Wall?, four contestants are challenged to discover the historical, sports or current events hidden behind the wall. The wall consists of 14 bricks, two of the bricks are elimination bricks and 12 bricks give the contestants a chance to bank the money.
The contestants unlock a picture of an historic event brick-by-brick. Each brick has a theme that appears on the screen and reveals a question. They are given four possible answers and if they answer correctly, the brick will in turn reveal a part of a picture and add money to the contestant’s banked cash.
The quicker they answer the question the more money they stand to bank. Only the contestant with the most banked cash will make it to the final round to guess the historic image imbedded in the bricks and claim their banked cash. The three remaining contestants will lose all their earnings.
“As part of the recently implemented channel changes, we are delighted to début What's Behind The Wall? as the offering in the newly introduced 19h00 entertainment slot. Another way for us to ensure we keep within our promise of offering quality family viewing.” says SABC2’s Caroline Phalakatshela.
