A first for local television,
Kasi Cribs: Edladleni presents the opulent and most envied township homes in South Africa. These houses are owned by ordinary citizens who have style, passion for décor and are fortunate enough to have the means to turn their houses into palaces.
The show is presented by the dynamic and adventurous
Siyabonga Radebe. He is known as an actor, comedian and a presenter with a radiant and loosely-based style. In the homes featured on the show, Radebe introduces the owners, their families and their neighbours. Viewers get a taste of their lifestyle and a peek inside the lavish homes that have emerged over the past few decades.
“The beauty of local content in a South African context is that you do not have to create a fictional story, we live in a country rich with experiences, diversity and aspirations. Ours is to capture it and reflect it in the most real form.
Kasi Cribs: Edladleni is one of the shows that will warm people’s hearts and ignite their aspirational spirit. We are looking forward to serving as a platform for this riveting production,” said Monde Twala, MD for e.tv Channels Division.
Townships, by origin, are defined as underdeveloped semi-urban living areas that were reserved for non-whites. They are usually built on the periphery of towns and largely occupied by the working class, comprising of blue collar workers. However, the modern township is not as rigid, the look and feel has improved as class divisions have narrowed.
