Press Release

Cake Boss, the popular docu-series following beloved baker Buddy Valastro, his larger-than-life family and burgeoning businesses, will return to TLC. Through a partnership between Discovery Networks International and TLC in the United States, seasons seven and eight will be produced beginning in February by original series producer Jon Sechrist, High Noon Entertainment and Valastro’s own Cakehouse Media.

Episodes will begin to air this summer on TLC internationally and Discovery Networks International’s lifestyle brands, reaching viewers in more than 220 countries and territories, with the TLC US premiere to be announced at a later date.  The re-commissioning of CAKE BOSS and its new production deal was announced on Monday by JB Perrette, President of Discovery Networks International.

“Cake Boss is certainly is one of our most successful shows on TLC Entertainment globally and in South Africa,” said Lee Hobbs, Vice President of Channels, Emerging Business. “We are pleased to be bringing the show back for two more seasons, the first of which will be on air later this year.”

“If you know me, you know family is my number one priority so it’s nice to come back home,” said Valastro.  “Now it’s time to heat up the ovens, roll the cameras and bring our fans some great storytelling and some amazing food!”

The new seasons of Cake Boss will show Buddy and the family getting back to the basics in the kitchen, continuing to mix enticing ingredients of his family, friends and employees with the added spice of international customers, special guest stars and celebrities, and baking styles that have made the show such a success.

The series chronicles Buddy's over-arching desire to achieve his late father's dream of making Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey, a household name.  As one of the most successful and renowned cake artists in the United States, Buddy works alongside a team that includes his mother, sisters, cousins and brothers-in-law. When you're working with family on a daily basis, there is bound to be a lot of drama, but at the end of the day, the Valastros are all about love.

Cake Boss premiered on TLC in May 2008.
