The judging panel for the Miss South Africa Pageant has been extended with the appointment of new judge, actress and TV personality Sophie Ndaba.
The Miss South Africa pageant, presented by Sun International in collaboration with Cell C, takes place at Sun City Superbowl on Sunday (March 29).
She joins the panel of magazine editor, poet and writer, Kojo Baffoe; Anneline Kriel (Bacon) who became Miss World in 1974 and Bloemfontein designer Casper Bosman.
Ndaba became a household name in South Africa playing Queen Moroka in the soap Generations. Sophie’s reach extends outside the world of television and she served leadership and community roles for many organisations and brands over the years.
The dazzling Miss SA Pageant will be broadcast live on M-Net (Channel 101) and Mzansi Magic (Dstv Channel 161) from 17h30 on the night on Sunday (March 29).
Presented by Proverb, performers at the glittering show include AKA, Gangs of Ballet, Beatenberg and Sterling EQ with appearances by current Miss World Rolene Strauss, former Miss Worlds Anneline Kriel and Penny Coelen-Rey as well as a host of former Miss SAs and other celebrities. Surprise appearances from some of the Cell C Sharks rugby players will add to the entertainment.
The Top 12 Miss SA finalists who come from around the country are Busi Mahlangu (Mpumalanga); Chanelle Sardinha (Gauteng); Danelle de Wet (Western Cape); Gugulethu Banda (Gauteng); Kim Wentzel (Gauteng); Liesl Laurie (Gauteng); Nicole Lamberts (Western Cape); Ntsiki Mkhize (Gauteng); Refilwe Mthimunye (Gauteng); Shanè Naidoo (Gauteng); Sihle Makhanya (KZN) and Taryn Morris (Western Cape).
