Over time I've realised that I'm absolutely mad about business reality shows so I'm tickled to see that there's a new one on the horizon.
Steve Harvey and reality guru Mark Burnett are teaming up for a new format that makes me very nervous on one hand but gives me hope on another.
It's a 13-part series that pits entrepreneurs against each other in a bid to win funding for their businesses. Steve will be hosting and entrepreneurs have to pitch their business ideas in a head-to-head showdown in front of a live studio audience. The audience then has to vote on which entrepreneur will receive funding to realise their idea.
Which is what worries me. You know how ridiculous audiences can be when it comes to voting for contestants on reality shows. I don't trust them to make the right decision! What does an audience know about business?? The one thing that gives me hope is that Mark Burnett has proven that he's brilliant at business shows.
His true genius lies in
Shark Tank which is also about entrepreneurs pitching their ideas - to investors instead of an audience - so I'm thinking he has to have some sort of plan up his sleeve to safeguard entrepreneurs from rubbish decisions by audience members.
There's no word yet on what's it's going to be called nor whether we'll be seeing it here but hopefully we will. Will keep you scooped.
