So what did you think of Isigingo's new opening sequence?
It debuted on Tuesday night (4 April) as part of the soapie's refresh which comes with new storylines and characters.
You've seen the
April teasers and now here's more detail from the show on what to expect this month:
Lincoln
Thrown into jail for killing his wife a year ago, he sets up his escape involving Nina and a
corrupt prison warden. Will the mining magnate’s escape plans be thwarted or not?
Kgothalo vs. Angie
Kgothalo is heartbroken by Tyson’s divorce request for which she blames Angie. She vents her anger on Angie and makes a decision which causes Angie to consider suicide.
The merge
The big story, driving the show
is the merging of Sibeko Gold and Haines International. Nikiwe Sibeko
asks Barker Haines to consider a union. What now? What of the two powerhouses combined futures? Which, if either, will dominate, if at all?
The Rec
Adding even more fuel to the already raging
Isidingo fire is the shift in ownership of The Rec, the Deep’s resident restaurant bar, once owned by S’khumbuso. Having lost everything, S’khumbuso’s parents are in huge debt and now the banks have come to collect! The Rec has gone up for auction. Will S’khu be able to wrestle ownership back? If not who will be the new owner?
Sechaba
The last slice of intrigue comes in the form of the live burial of Sechaba
. This storyline is laced with racism undertones and deals with land ownership issues, a topical subject in our country at the moment, all of
which will begin, rather aptly, on Freedom Day.
Setting the scene, Sechaba visits his father’s grave at Horizon Deep where he’s approached and beaten up by two guys.
Enter the socially sensitive Gatanga Samuel ‘Muti Man’ Masilo (played by Amos Ketlele), a new face to the show
and one of the show’s many new arrivals.
Pulling Sechaba out, rapidly, is Gatanga’s purpose but the entire experience leaves him completely rattled, making way for his character to integrate into the bigger storyline.
Will Sechaba make it out of the grave alive?
