Ashes to Ashes star Nyaniso Dzedze has been a firm fave amongst TVSA readers and members since his TV debut in 2015.
We love him, he loves us and now he's gonna be lovin' Thembisa Mdoda in a new drama series called Unmarried.
It premieres on
Vuzu Amp 1Magic on Friday, 2 February at 19h30 and Nyaniso (and his famous six pack) stars as Bongani, partner to Thembi, played by Thembisa.
The series centres round three Jozi gals who have different relationships with the concept of marriage.
Thembi and Bongani are Unmarried and live together while raising their children - they were childhood sweethearts who fell pregnant at 17.
Thembi's besties are Brenda (played by Renate Stuurman), who's been married to her ball and chain for 10 years, and Lesego (Keke Mphuthi), a single hottie.
The series is described by 1Magic as "a sexy new drama about the lives of three young female friends living in Johannesburg, as they deal with the pressures of juggling marriage, motherhood, relationships, and their careers."
This sounds very similar to SABC's The Mating Game and e.tv's 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls so we'll have to see if it manages to deliver something new.
Nyaniso's character Bongani is a township guy who takes his family responsibilities seriously A.K.A. he’s a good guy.
This is Nyaniso's second TV role since the end of Ashes. In November he debuted in the recurring role of Ntja on SABC2's Keeping Score.
Here's a blow-by-blow of the main characters on Unmarried:
Brenda (Renate Stuurman)
At 33 Dikeledi, who was born and raised in Soweto seems to have it all. The life that every young woman dreams of. Raised from a nuclear family, she grew up with a sense of security and her ambitions were nurtured from a young age.
Lesego (Keke Mphuthi)
A go-getter of note, who never lets anything get her down until she came into her own as a young woman and discovered that she was not like any of the other girls – but a beauty.
Thembi (Thembisa Mdoda)
Thembi was always the star of the trio, the prettiest girl in school and the brightest one in class.
Donald (Fezile Makhanya)
Donald is an entitled man, who believes that he can have whatever he wants. He is defined by his masculinity, which struggles to adjust to his wife Brenda’s success.
Vuyo (Stevel Marc)
Believes he is God’s gift to the female species. He is as charming, as he is arrogant and he knows how to use this to his advantage.
