Guilt is a South African television drama series which revolves around a group of neighbours who stumble across one million rands in a near death accident and must decide amongst themselves what to do about it.
Faced with the choice to declare the money to the police or share it, they agree to split the money amongst themselves. The guilt begins to eats them up, but things really explode when they discover where the money actually came from...
Mkhize Street, Emangeni Section, Tembisa is home to a tight-knit community. There's Phenyo, an impulsive, domineering 40-year-old taxi driver who wants to marry the love of his life but can't afford to.
Then there's Emily, a caring and compassionate tavern owner who wants nothing more than to be accepted by the community; Dimakatso, a young IT student has constant quarrels with her roommate; and Consolation, a Zimbabwean maid who is willing to do anything to stay out of jail.
Bank teller Sbu is under constant pressure from an organised crime syndicate to repay some money that he owes or risk losing his life. Meanwhile, dirty cop Mfanafuthi Twala's life is turned upside down when the same syndicate starts to blackmail him.
All of these characters lives intersect when the taxi they are riding in almost has an accident and they make a startling discovery.
The series stars Miza Modibedi as Thapelo, Khutjo Green as Emily, Lehlohonolo Makoko as Detective Twala, Tendaiishe Chitima as Consolation and Mlindelwa Mahlangu as Phenyo.
Recurring cast include Lorraine Moropa as Dimpho Mokgopa, Lwazi Mthembu as Zizipho Mokoena, Boikie Pholo as Dr. Letlaka, Oupa Gabaza as Detective Ndalo, Fumani Shilubana as Ezekiel Mokgopa, Millicent Makhado as Bontle Letlaka-Twala and Naledi Rerayi as Naledi Mokgopa.
