Somizi's been chosen as Comedy Central's next Roastee and gets a thrashing on Monday, 7 May at 21h00.

Is he the right choice for South Africa's next Roasting? (Steve Hofmeyr was the first and Kenny Kunene the second).

I think Somizi Mhlongo is the right roastee. He is hot and happening right now...is engaged to a young man almost as young as his daughter. I believe this will be a great chance to roast him on his double standards because not so long ago he said on Living the Dream with Somizi that he is overprotective of his daughter and doesn’t wanna hear boys’ stories. Yet his fiance’s Family doesn’t approve of his relationship with their son citing age differences...yet Somizi could not be bothered about their concerns.

Did not come in here expecting the tea spilled above. Hahaha. He's perfect as a roastee and is guaranteed to wipe out the other roasters. How do I get tickets to the event? ??

Hi Onkez - it's being filmed on 26 April at the Lyric Theatre (Gold Reef City) and ticket prices range from R200 to R385 - you can book at Computicket here: Roast of Somizi.

Whuu Shem I feel sorry for those roasters, SomSom will wipe the floor with them!  I hope they get a good roast master like they did when they got Trevor Noah for Steve Hofmeyr's roast

Comedy Central really knows how to draaaaag things out by releasing bits of news about this.

The latest: the next two roasters are comedian Skhumba Hlophe and singer Kurt "Big Hair" Darren.
