Mense Mense (People People) is a South African television sitcom based on an original concept by Bobby van Jaarsveld, which revolves around a group of friends who live in the same building.
After a failed marriage, Rossouw (van Jaarsveld) pitches up at the door of his friends from varsity, Julian (Solomon Cupido) and Liesl (Crystal-Donna Roberts), to start a new life in the city.
The conniving building owner Mientjie (Sandra Prinsloo) lets Rossouw work in her microbrewery, and takes her niece Salomé (Lea Vivier) under her wing after she loses her job as a local distillery rep.
Julian and Sebastian (Reynard Slabbert) spend their time working on their app, Mense, in the basement of the building and Liesl dreams of a white wedding while marking assignments and preparing for lessons.
The series tries to portray the hypnotic rhythm of friendship, relationships and adulthood, but above all the unshakable love between strangers who become family.
Mense Mense is an M-Net Original Production, produced for kykNET by Nouvanaand Films. The series director is Pierre van Pletzen.
