It's here. The international reality competition dating show The Bachelor has arrived in South Africa and applications are open for single girls who want to be on the series.
The rights have been bought by M-Net and the show debuts on Valentine's Day in 2019.
It's being produced by Rapid Blue (Come Dine With Me South Africa, Shark Tank) and reality director Donald Clarke will be directing.
The Bachelor hasn't been confirmed yet, so girls... you don't know what you're gonna get but does it matter? He may be brilliant but if he's a dud, so what? You can ditch him like a dead rose.
If you'd like to apply to be on the show, this is what you need to know:
Application requirements
You need to be over 21 and single - either never married or legally divorced.
You need to have a valid South African ID document and need to be available to film between 6 October and 25 November 2018.
You must meet the requirements outlined in the Terms and Conditions on the official website, which you'll find here:
The Bachelor SA.
You'll also find the entry forms on the site. You need to fill in a form and submit two photographs of yourself.
Who is the show looking for?
This from the director:
“Potential entrants may want to know if The Bachelor is looking for specific qualities. Do they have to be drop-dead gorgeous, be able to flirt with fire or finesse, have an interesting life story, be an outgoing party girl or be blessed with beauty and brains?
The answer is simple: ALL the single ladies stand a chance! You just need to be ready for romance!”
Applications close on: Monday, 20 August 2018 at 23h59.
If you aren't familiar with the format, you'll find a blow-by-blow here:
