Renewed!

Good news for all of you who've been asking... The Voice South Africa has been renewed by M-Net and the search for Season 3 Voices begins today (29 August 2018).

The series premieres in February 2019 and the first round of auditions are happening online.

Here's what you need to know:

Who can enter?

You need to be a South African citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18 with NO existing music contracts. You need to be 18 or older on 1 September 2018.
There is no upper age limit.
You can enter as an individual or as a duo.

How to audition

Entries are happening on The Voice SA website here: The Voice SA Entries.

As you'll see, you need to fill an application form and upload a video of yourself singing a song of your choice.

The video needs to be no longer than 90-seconds, consisting of a verse and chorus of your chosen song.

The song may be performed with or without accompaniment.

You can perform any song in any genre.

Please note: live videos in front of audiences, music videos or produced singles and tracks are NOT allowed.

If your video doesn't upload, please check that your video is less than 100MB, and you are on a secure internet connection.

You may also send a YouTube link of your performance if you prefer. Save your form, and complete it with the YouTube link once you have shared your video there.

Audition must-knows

According to M-Net's Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard, you don't need to fret about the visual aspect of the video because it's all about The Voice. This is what she has to say about it:

"The selection team only wants to assess the quality, tone and timbre of your vocal chords and get a sense of your performance skills.”

Closing date for entries: Sunday, 30 September 2018 at 23h59

What to expect after the auditions

If your audition is successful, you'll be contacted by the production for a call-back and if your call-back is successful, you'll get to perform at the Blind Auditions.

The Blind Auditions are where the four coaches choose their teams by listening to auditionees with their backs turned in their red chairs.

If you aren't familiar with the format, you'll find it here: The Voice South Africa.

FAQs

You'll find additional important info. here: FAQs

The winner will win a recording contract with Universal Music as well as additional prizes which haven't been confirmed yet.

Go for it - and good luck!
