He also chats to well-known people to get an alternative view of the latest news. Although the programme is filled with jokes, it's definitely not a joke: it will help you to make sense of everything that is going on without leaving you depressed or bored.

With Die Ware Naarheid you will get a weekly update of news, with a good dose of humour added to it – because sometimes it's the only way to handle the ugly truth.

In the Season 35 premiere, "Food Truck Luck": the competition gets revved up by taking a cue from the food truck scene as four food truck chefs cause a traffic jam at the fryer in their race to make tasty appetisers using two proteins. Then, the final two face off to make a roadside favourite – nachos – into a tasty dessert.

Who has what it takes to stay in the race, and who will be side-lined?

Channel: National Geographic Channel (DStv 181 / StarSat 220)
TX Time: 21h00

Hostile Planet

Wildlife series that explores Earth's most hostile environments.

Over the course of six episodes, the show explores the extremes of deep, high, cold, hot, wet and dry and reveals the truly extraordinary ways in which animals have adapted to survive in the face of great adversity.

It's always been a hostile planet and yet, in the last 40 years, it's got a whole lot tougher for the wildlife. The world has changed more in the last 40 years than at any time in the last 65-million. So animals in the most hostile places on Earth must adapt in the blink of an evolutionary eye.

Facing everything from intrinsically hostile habitats and brutally punishing weather to the unrelenting threat of predators and intense competition for resources, their challenge is simple: adapt or die.

Chains, whips and hilarious quips! For grad student/dominatrix Tiff and her cash-strapped gay best friend Pete, S&M is a business, not a pleasure. Well, maybe there's a little pleasure.

Their professional relationship redefines their friendship, but more importantly helps them find themselves.

He travels to cities like New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas to meet today's tastemakers - everyday people behind the online posts - and discovers why the meals are worthy of talking about online.

He also breaks bread with the chefs responsible for creating the dishes.

In each 30-minute episode, Michael hits the road to find the best of the best, the most talked about, the most liked and the most inventive food being made today.
