Roswell: New Mexico

More than maybe anywhere else on Earth, Roswell, New Mexico is ground zero for those who seek proof that aliens exist.

Roswell native Liz Ortecho left it all behind 10 years ago, after the death of her beloved older sister, Rosa.

But with her father ailing, she reluctantly returns to her tourist-trap hometown to move back in with him.

When Liz arrives, she reconnects with Max Evans, her teenage crush who is now a Roswell police officer. Their chemistry is instantly electric.

But Liz soon discovers a shocking truth: Max is an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life, along with those of his otherworldly siblings, Isobel and Michael.

As the two grow closer after a decade apart, Liz finds it difficult to keep the truth from her best friend, Maria De Luca, and her trusting high school ex, Dr. Kyle Valenti.

Also hiding their extraterrestrial origins are Isobel and Michael, with Isobel not even revealing the truth to her husband, Noah, and Michael keeping his identity hidden beneath a bad-boy exterior of hard living and casual hookups.

Meanwhile, a long-standing government conspiracy spearheaded by Master Sgt. Jesse Manes, along with the politics of fear and hatred that run rampant in Roswell, threatens to expose Max and his family, and could endanger his deepening romance with Liz... as well as their lives.

Egypt's Sun King: The Mystery Tombs

Channel: National Geographic Channel (DStv 181 / StarSat 220)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Documentary, History

Egypt's Sun King: The Mystery Tombs

In 2011 a team from the University of Basel made two astonishing discoveries in Egypt's Valley of the Kings.

By chance they came across a new tomb that was the first to contain a body since the discovery of Tutankhamun. Then they discovered that the tomb beside it, which had never been excavated before, held the bodies of around 50 people.

But who were all the people in these two linked tombs? This film follows the archaeological detective story to uncover the answer.

It pursues the trail that leads to one of Egypt's greatest pharaohs, Amenhotep III - and to the women he was close to.

And the film also reveals the astonishing project behind the re-emergence nearby of the largest temple ever built in ancient Egypt - the lost mortuary temple of the same pharaoh, Amenhotep III.

Mr. Iglesias

TX Time: 10h00 (all episodes)

Mr. Iglesias

Comedian Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias plays a good-natured public high school teacher who tries to make a difference in the lives of some smart but underperforming students at his alma mater.

He takes on teaching gifted but misfit kids to not only save them from being "counseled out" by a bully bureaucrat Assistant Principal (Oscar Nuñez), but also to help them unlock their full potential.

Sherri Shepherd co-stars as principal of the high school.

This Time with Alan Partridge

Channel: BBC Brit (DStv 120)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Comedy

This Time with Alan Partridge

Alan (Steve Coogan) is handed a career lifeline - the chance to stand in (temporarily) as co-host on This Time, an evening weekday magazine show.

His first return to live television since his 90s chat show Knowing Me, Knowing You was cancelled after a guest was fatally shot on air, This Time is the perfect shop window for a man of Alan's gravitas and will, or should, see him finally recognised as one of the heavyweight broadcasters of his era.

The show itself is a heady mix of consumer affairs, current affairs, viewer interaction, highbrow interview and lightweight froth; very much the sweet spots for a man whose CV boasts over two decades of weekday local radio.

And with an array of diverse subjects on the agenda, it promises the perfect fit for a man whose broadcasting style has been described as "equidistant between chitchat and analysis".

Fatal Attraction

Channel: ST Series E1 (StarSat 125)
TX Time: 20h30

Each episode opens with a shocking crime and then flashes back through reenactments to the beginning of the incident providing a glimpse into the dark heart of a dangerous romance.

Africa with Ade Adepitan

Channel: BBC Earth (DStv 184)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Travel

Africa with Ade Adepitan

Four-part series in which journalist and athlete Ade Adepitan travels across Africa, from West Africa and city of his birth - Lagos in Nigeria - through Central and Eastern Africa and on to the deep south of the continent.

Ade is on a journey to uncover how modern Africa is changing. He will visit a vast array of contrasting places on the continent, each providing unique and surprising experiences, from the windswept beauty of Cape Verde to the streets of Mogadishu.

What happens in Africa in the next 50 years will shape all of our futures for the coming generations.

African population growth means migration to Europe could explode - but with life expectancy rising and child mortality shrinking, economic growth may transform some nations into Asian-style superpowers.

But the challenges are daunting for sub-Saharan Africa, and with dozens of different countries and cultures there are no generalisations that can hold for this endlessly fascinating continent.

From booming new tech hubs and megacities to pockets of conflict and poverty, Africa is the most vibrant and varied continent on Earth.
