Chad threatens to fire his PI if he can’t get results. Andre tells Chad that Abigail was on a chartered plane that crashed into the Gulf of Mexico.

Chad has a terrible nightmare that Abigail is dead. Jennifer discusses the situation with Doug and Julie. As Hope and Aiden return from their getaway, she asks for space and to keep things simple for now. Andre chains Rafe in the abandoned cellar, as Hope goes into work to try to forget about Aiden.

Deimos informs Kate she will no longer be CEO and has to return all of the money she siphoned from his accounts. Nicole gets a call from Roman who tells her Deimos has reappeared which means she's obviously no longer a suspect. Philip wants to sign Chloe to his record label.

Rafe is chained to the wall as a clock counts down to zero. After Aiden is hauled off, Hope decides she must find Rafe to tell him she knows the truth… and her search brings her to the abandoned property where he is in chains. Ciara confronts Chase about lying to JJ, creating an alibi for her.

Hope works frantically to free Rafe from the basement before the bomb goes off. Outside, Shawn arrives – but is too late as the house explodes, presumably with Hope and Rafe inside. Shawn and Belle continue to watch over a distraught Theresa. John finally gets a lead.

Shawn runs into the bombed out basement, but there’s no sign of Rafe or Hope. Rafe brings Hope to a secret room off the DiMera tunnels. She’s unconscious and badly hurt. At Club TBD, Dario fixes Blanca and Adriana a drink. Adriana informs Blanca that her sister is trying to get ahold of her.

Shawn is trying to figure out if his mom (Hope) and Rafe managed to escape. Hope’s condition worsens and despite his need to search for a way out, Hope doesn’t want him to leave her. Brady and Theresa confront Summer in Las Vegas and learn her part in Tate’s kidnapping.

Rafe suffers through an extended nightmare in which Hope dies. Rafe then bolts awake to discover that Hope is in fact still alive... but fading fast. Rafe, motivated by his dream, redoubles his efforts desperate to find help for Hope, and with all his strength, finally breaks the door down that blocked their way…

Having finally escaped the DiMera tunnels, Rafe finds Chad in the study and enlists his help with saving Hope. Jennifer and JJ are called to the scene, and Hope is finally taken to the hospital. Chad tries to talk to JJ about Jennifer and the custody battle. Brady angrily confronts Victor, believing he kidnapped Tate.

Kate moves out of the mansion and into a room at the Salem Inn, but she’s very unnerved by everything that’s happened with Deimos. Deimos pulls Nicole away from Dario to tell her Kate is out of the mansion and his life. Chloe and Philip see Deimos leading Nicole out of the Club.

Brady, John and Paul try to develop clues about who kidnapped Tate. Theresa gets to Summer and lays out her suspicions. The fight escalates and finally a frustrated Theresa attacks, demanding a confession. Summer pushes her off but Theresa loses her balance and hits her head on the table.

Summer is relieved she didn’t kill Theresa, grabs her stuff, leaves a note and splits. John and Brady question Deimos about his connection to the group that might be involved with Tate’s kidnapping. Kayla finds Steve working at TBD, carrying out his promise to prove to her by his actions.

Jennifer brings Hope home from the hospital and tells her she wants to hire Aiden to pursue custody of Thomas. Hope is appalled and tries to convince Jennifer not to use Aiden. Chad asks Belle to be his attorney in what he believes will be a custody battle for Thomas. Chloe buys a pregnancy kit.

Chad has a nightmare about Jennifer taking Thomas. Nicole is unable to resist her attraction to Deimos… and the two make love. As Nicole still wrestles with her attraction, Deimos destroys his memory box and turns his focus toward a future with the woman he loves.

Chad receives proof that Abigail boarded the plane that crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. As Chad grapples with the possibility of Abigail’s death, he breaks the news to Jennifer and later JJ. Hope and Rafe enjoy a romantic evening at her place as he tries to help her forget about the trauma they went through.
