The lockdown restrictions means the live yearly Come Duze experience is unable to screen on SABC1 this year.
It has been replaced by a "virtual television experience", with a studio-based music festival hosted by a variety of channel personalities.
Hosts for the event include Nae the Bae (of One Mic fame), Samora Mangesi (RGB presenter), President Thato (YoTV personality) and Selby "Selbeyonce" Mkhize (from Ukhozi FM).
The event will also feature three of KZN's finest upcoming DJs, who will assume the role of opening acts to some of the established artists performing on the day.
Headline acts include Focalistic, Big Zulu, Sjava, Nomcebo Zikode, Costa Tich, Blaq Diamond, Khuzani, Makhadzi, Zanda Zakuza, Aubrey Qwana, Mnqobi Yazo and others.
The 1's and 2's will be rocked by DJ Shimza and DJ Sox during the DJ segment of the event, which will be timed to usher the nation into 2021 with a countdown.
