Genre: Period Drama

Gentleman Jack 2

Created, written and co-directed by Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax), and starring Suranne Jones (Scott & Bailey), Gentleman Jack tells the true story of a woman who had a passion for life and a mind for business, and bucked society's expectations at every turn.

Set in the complex, changing world of 1832 Halifax, West Yorkshire - the cradle of the evolving Industrial Revolution - the series focuses on landowner Anne Lister, who is determined to transform the fate of her faded ancestral home, Shibden Hall, by reopening the coal mines and marrying well.

The charismatic, single-minded, swashbuckling Lister - who dresses head-to-toe in black and charms her way into high society - has no intention of marrying a man.

The story examines Lister's relationships with her family, servants, tenants and industrial rivals and, most importantly, would-be wife.

Based in historical fact, the real-life Anne Lister's story was recorded in the four-million words of her diaries, and the most intimate details of her life, once hidden in a secret code, have been decoded and revealed for the series.

Season 2 opens in Yorkshire, 1834.

All eyes are on Anne Lister and Ann Walker as they set up home together at Shibden Hall as wife and wife, determined to combine their estates and become a power couple.

Anne Lister's entrepreneurial spirit frightens the locals as much as her unconventional love life and, with Halifax on the brink of revolution, her refusal to keep a low profile becomes provocative and dangerous.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Faith is All": As they prepare to move in together, Lister presses her new wife to change her will to help strengthen their future together, but Ann finds herself nervous of public opinion.

Meanwhile, Ann's protective tribe of relatives grow increasingly suspicious of Lister's motives, and Mariana's devastation puts a damper on the couple's upcoming honeymoon abroad.

Say Yes to the Dress 20

Channel: TLC Entertainment (DStv 135)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Reality

Say Yes to the Dress 20

Part fashion show, part bridal story and part family therapy, life at Kleinfeld Bridal in Manhattan is always full of surprises.

Every day the consultants at this premiere boutique face practical and emotional hurdles to deliver the perfect dress in time for a bride's big day.

The global pandemic effectively scuttled the traditional summer wedding season and postponed the dreams of countless brides across the US, but there's nothing like a challenge to help get the creativity flowing for Randy and the crew.

From virtual appointments to dresses on lockdown to rescheduled weddings, this is unlike anything the team has seen before — but they're up to the task of making even quarantine wedding dreams come true.

Say Yes to the Dress celebrates 15 years of making brides' wedding dress dreams come true when the show returns.

Just when Randy and the Kleinfeld team think they've seen it all, Say Yes celebrates its crystal anniversary with brides unlike any they've experienced before.

These include a bride-to-be who got engaged mere hours before her appointment, as well as a bride who uses her feet instead of her hands.

No bridal appointment is complete without a lively entourage, and this season raises the bar on hyper-opinionated mothers, fashion-forward fathers and scene-stealing sisters.

Chicago Med 7

Channel: M-Net (DStv 101)
TX Time: 20h30
Genre: Drama, Police Procedural

Chicago Med 7

Chicago Med is an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city's newest state-of-the-art trauma centre and into the lives of the courageous doctors, nurses and staff who hold it all together.

Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) finds his career as an emergency medicine physician in jeopardy, following his cover-up involving a serious ethics violation.

Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) remains the Sherlock Holmes of psychiatry.

Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), the venerable head of the city's largest hospital, is under intense fiscal scrutiny to preserve the bottom line while continuing to ensure that all patients receive nothing short of quality care and compassion.

Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), a former Navy flight surgeon and chief of the E.D., begins the season in recovery mode after being shot by a former patient.

Now it's up to the blunt but talented Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) to show what he's made of as interim chief at the helm of Chicago's trusted and busiest ER.

Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett), the charge nurse and eyes, ears and brain of the ER, is skilled and confident but finds herself dealing with profound family issues of her own.

Ace surgeon Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains), the New Orleans-raised surgeon with a breezy manner, has finally started to let his guard down, earning the respect of his colleagues.

And now two new doctors have joined the E.D. family.

Dr. Stevie Hammer (Kristen Hager) is a brilliant, scrappy emergency medicine doctor with a surprising past and Dr. Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard) is an ex-cop who's doing a dual residency in emergency medicine and paediatrics.

Together they will confront Chicago's most critical medical cases and challenging ethical dilemmas with courage, compassion and state-of-the-art treatment.

Inspired by ripped-from-the-headlines cases, Chicago Med will weave cutting-edge medicine with the personal drama that comes with working in such a high-intensity environment.

Through it all, familiar faces from Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. will intertwine with Chicago's finest medical heroes.

In the Season 7 premiere, "You Can't Always Trust What You See": Will Halstead returns to Med to help Goodwin with a secret investigation.

Meanwhile, Archer and Charles deal with twins who insist on being identical inside and out.

Also, Stevie and Dylan treat a young patient with sickle cell anemia.

TX Time: 21h30
Genre: Drama, Police Procedural

Chicago P.D. 9

At the centre of Chicago P.D. is Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), who is at ground zero against the war on crime in Chicago.

He will do almost anything to bring criminals to justice.

In the past year, Voight has fought to turn over a new leaf, carefully navigating the situation at the department with a new boss who has helped him and the unit adapt to a new reality.

His close-knit team of detectives share his passion for keeping the city safe, including Det. Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), a committed and ethical detective who previously served in Afghanistan.

There's also Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), a quick-thinker who often leads with his heart.

Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is a bright and quietly charismatic member of the team; and Det. Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) is a seasoned detective whose tough demeanor belies her complicated emotions.

Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) runs a tight precinct with a firm hand, although she lets her humour shine through from time to time.

In the Season 9 premiere, "Closure": As Season 9 kicks off, Burgess fights for her life as the team scrambles to find her kidnapper, and Ruzek crumbles under pressure.

Voight and Upton deal with the aftermath of their deadly decision.

Welcome back Gentleman Jack! Although I need a recap of season 1

Brilliant to have it back! - but there's bad news because it hasn't been renewed for Season 3.

The good news: It might be renewed, if another streamer picks it up. I see there's a #SaveGentlemenJack hashtag today so there's a fuss and to do about its cancellation.

It's a victim of the chaos going on with the streamers and hasn't been renewed by the troubled HBO Max.

It's a co-production between HBO and the BBC and according to its creator Sally Wainwright, the BBC wants to renew it but it doesn't have a streaming partner without HBO.

Here's an article about it: Gentleman Jack creator says BBC "up for" renewing show but needs new partner

Oh no! , lets hope it will get picked up like Manifest was, even if for a short run....
