Bettina (Betty), everyone's favourite bestie, returns in a more quirky, funny, self-assured, and motivated way than ever.
uBettina Wethu is a dramedy that is an adaptation of the Columbian series Yo Soy Betty La Fea, a television drama successfully adapted for local audiences in 19 countries – including the US adaptation Ugly Betty.
Season 2 returns with a number of casting changes and new storylines.
The world currently has 16 Bettys and Mzansi and the rest of Africa is about to meet Betty number 17, played by Kamogelo Molatlhoe (replacing Farieda Metsileng, who played the role in the first season).
Another change sees Lunga Shabalala taking over the role of Dingaan Jiyani from Zweli Dube, who played the role in Season 1.
Also joining the cast in Season 2 is Itumeleng Bokaba in the role of Zaza; and Hungani Ndlovu as Betty's new love interest Duma.
Nimrod Nkosi joins the cast as Dingaan's devious estranged dad and Abby Molz plays Nubia's new and always on receptionist, Sindi.
Season 2 is a period of personal change and professional repositioning.
Betty sets out determined to succeed in her new position as an account manager and establishes boundaries in her troubled relationship with Dingaan.
She gets past her transport issues but takes some minor leadership challenges, like assisting Wendell and the Nubia staff in acquiring a wellness area.
She hits a speed bump when the demands of her new position grow – like managing moral dilemmas and difficult clients - which even endanger her friendship with Zaza.
