TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Docu-Reality, Wildlife
Dr. Ole Alcumbrac owns White Mountain Animal Hospital, a full-service animal clinic in Pinetop, Arizona that cares for everything from cats and dogs to exotics and large animals.
But this self-described 'wild man' isn't your typical veterinarian, and it's his work outside of the clinic that excites him most.
Whether he's helicoptering around the country on rescue and relocation missions, working on wild and dangerous species at two of Arizona's wildlife parks (where he's the resident vet), or flying to Mexico to do emergency dental work on jaguars, no two days are ever the same for Ole.
From delivering tiger pups at The Bearizona Wildlife Park, to rescuing condors or vaccinating pronghorn sheep from the cockpit of a helicopter... every day there's a new case - and a new adventure - biting at his heels.
Just like the wild animals he cares for, Dr. Ole Alcumbrac can't be tamed.
In the series premiere, "Pronghorn Problems": Doc Ole treats bears and pigs alongside puppies and parrots.
He travels across the state to check on a beloved black bear and adopts an adorable puppy as the clinic mascot.
He also helps bring the Sonoran pronghorn back from the brink of extinction.

Back at the clinic, he gives a sloth a dental exam and nail trim, and holds a puppy adoption event.

Lion: The Rise and Fall of the Marsh Pride
Channel: BBC Earth (DStv 184)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Wildlife, Documentary
This film tells the epic story of the Marsh Pride.
As human-lion conflict increases, they battle for survival. The future of the pride, and of wild lions in Africa, hangs in the balance.
Documented in television documentaries for over 40 years by the BBC and other broadcasters around the world, the Marsh Pride is the most filmed pride of lions on Earth.
In this film, the Marsh Pride battle for survival in Kenya's famous Maasai Mara Reserve, which has become a magnet for tourists, many of them keen to see the pride for themselves.
A tale of shifting loyalties, bloody takeovers and sheer resilience, the lions' story is told by those who filmed them, tried to protect them and lived alongside them, as well as some who ultimately wanted them dead.
Naturalists, guides, vets and conservationists in Kenya and back in the UK offer a unique perspective on the life of these lions.
And the Maasai who live and graze their cattle next door to the pride speak about the struggles of living close to these dangerous predators.
The Maasai themselves have been forced to give up their nomadic way of life and settle into a sedentary existence.
So despite the long relationship of respect and knowledge between Maasai and lion, will it be possible to exist alongside these wild animals in the modern world?
