The Big Brother Titans have got competition when it comes to capturing attention.
This person... spotted in the audience during Sunday's live show:
She was thee ideal audience member any show could wish for. She clapped at the right moments, listened closely to every word that was said, communicated with us, blew kisses - she was fan'tastic.
It really made us yearn for vox pop interviews with the studio audience. As we mentioned
last week, we've had more than enough of the Twitter comments on the eviction show because they aren't personal or impactful. Anyone can logon to Twitter to see what's being said by a gazillion different accounts but
Big Brother is a reality TV show, not an internet app.
Interviews with real people in the flesh are a completely different vibe and would be delightful to see. Right now, the audience is just being used as a glorified soundtrack when they should be more.
Ebuka went on and on, encouraging them to make a generic noise when he named the nominated housemates but then they were completely ignored for the rest of the show. It would be much more entertaining if he and Lawrence ventured into the audience to get their perspectives on enticing questions.
We have no doubt our fave scene stealer would have a lot to say!
Much more than mizzy Theo Traw whose misery was evident as he sloped his way out of the house. Shame, he was very cut up about leaving but came across as being too sorry for himself in his interview.
At first we were iffy at the fact that the housemates were nominated in pairs because it means one of them went home because of the other, but upon reflection, we realised that it was best because it meant that viewers weren't able to vote along country lines.
Will that change this week? Hopefully not.
Theo's fellow evictee Sandra didn't have anything important to say. We were distracted by the sunglasses that don't leave her face and can't actually remember a word she said.
Ipeleng was more memorable and Ebuka did well to push and prod her for an answer about her comments that some housemates were unhappy when she became Head of House for a second week in a row.
Ebuka: You said something last week that caught my attention. You did say that some girls in the house had started to give you an attitude when you were picked to stay in the Head of House room. Who are these girls?
Ipeleng: Ooooh, I'm not gonna drop names but all I'm gonna say is that it kind of changed the whole mood. I felt kind of isolated at some point.
Ebuka: By who?
From there Ipeleng ducked and dived when she
should have answered the question. She could have said their names and made light of it instead, suggesting she "understood" why they would have reacted as they did.
e.g. "But I understood because I would have felt the same way so no hard feelings girls, I feel ya!"
Her avoidance meant that she came across as fearful, which is never good, especially when dealing with people who want to claw your eyes out.
This is obviously why she apologised to Olivia after the live show, which she should never have done.
As they say, sharks can smell your fear.
