EPISODE 11How could that have happened? I know Gary’s a threat and lied and hasn’t had the same alliances everyone else has had etc but I just don’t know how they could decide to get rid of him in favour of keeping the thug ! – even if they know there’s no ways a Jury would give Judd the bucks.
I’m very disappointed - I thought last weeks elimination of Jamie had turned everything upside down and that there were gonna be faboo fireworks this week involving them getting rid of Judd once and for all.
The only slight consolation is thinking about the opening blissful moments when everyone came back from Tribal Council shenganigans with Judd’s eyeballs popping out of their green luminous sockets round the fireplace. You’d really think they’d have found a solution to the ghost-green of the nightshift don’t you think?
Everyone stood round while Judd went on about how shocked he was at the decision to get rid of Jamie, saying he didn’t know why they didn’t warn him – to which Stephenie cunningly replied that they didn’t want to put him in an awkward position.
While he sulkily got more of that psycho look he gets in his eyes - as if he’s teetering on the edge of pulling out a machine gun - Gary thanked Lydia for being such a walk-over, slept close to her and spent the next morning trying to get as much information out of her as possible, while trying to convince her to be on his side.
This was a very rubbish move on his part because obviously all Lydia was gonna do was raise her annoying eyebrows and grin at everything. I was gonna say that I’m surprised she actually managed to vote against Jamie but of course she was going to when everyone else did.
While Gary quizzed her on whether she’d be up for an alliance with him, Judd woke up looking filthy, heard everything they had to say and vomited out how he felt about Gary, both to us and to Rafe, Stephenie and Cindy who spent copious amounts of time sitting on top of a ruin drinking coffee made from tea-bags.
Somewhere in between all the Judd-Gary loathing everyone was called to their excellent Immunity Challenge where they had to smash pots of corn with each others names on – which is always one of my fave things for them to do. Seeing who they choose to target first finishes me up in delight – espesh when they get so ridiculously serious about it as they did.
How was Stephenie calling Lydia jealous – saying it in relation to the food but
so obviously meaning in it relation to everything – her superiorly plucked eyebrows included. Lydia needed such a throttle for the way she apologetically kept trying to justify herself, insisting it wasn’t personal when it was - if it wasn’t she wouldn't have apologised.
Also the thing of her not having had a meal was such a lie - just two weeks ago she was the cat who sat stuffing the cream, watching the others suffer through a Reward Challenge. The worst was her attitude when Cindy and Rafe got back from their Reward though , making herself their victim drinking the dregs of that soup to make Cindy feel horrible.
As much as I like him, I was a bit irritated at Gary for targeting her the way he did. Obviously he was going to because she’s the naturally weak link and he’d tried getting Steph and Judd on his side last week, but still, he forced us into seeing way too much of her and also made her think she has too much power.
Rafe’s cunningly wielding more and more of the real thing though isn’t he? His winning immunity is the wierdiest thing in how surprising it is when he does. The way they edited that final sprint between him and Gary in the Immunity Challenge had me strinickitied right up until the very end of Rafe’s win. If the others are plotting against serious threats he’s defs one to be on the lookout for, particularly because he doesn’t have the star power and therefore mixed loving and loathing Steph does.
What Gary had to say at Tribal Council about everyone still seeing her as a TV star and wanting her autograph was very interesting – from the looks of all the eye rolling and mad denials he hit the nail on the head that’s it's how they feel.
Speaking of heads – the question during the Reward Challenge about the Maya’ian game where they kicked around chopped-off people-heads was hysterical. The people who guessed False obviously said it ‘cos they just couldn’t imagine it being true that it happened. It’s impossible to imagine the people who did such things – what crazy mind-set would they have to be in to actually do it?
It’s not too dissimilar to the Survivors though, whether it be physically or through what’s said or not. The nastiness of the things Stephenie felt she needed to say this week and the way Lydia was generally and Judd all times - it's kinda depressing – like if you need to be like that to survive – is a million bucks worth it?
The trip to that hot spring-place must have been such a relief for Rafe and Cindy for this escapey reason. Not that I’m mad about Cindy nor thrilled for her that she won. Not that I’m not either though. She’s just kinda there, not really doing much of anything –except winning challenges without anyone else seeming to notice.
Her, Steph and Danni are majorly athletic contenders with Rafe – which could be why they decided to keep fatso in favour of chucking Gary. I was initially surprised that Danni had sided against him but she had no other choice knowing that everyone else was too. As from now immunity’s gonna be more and more important and luckily there’s no ways either Judd or Lydia will win it.
I hope Gary goes on to do cool footbally things as a result of his Survivor time. In the end I did agree with him about not telling them the truth about who he is. Even though the idea of the lie was more glamorous in his own mind than in reality if the others knew his history for sure they'd defs have had issues with him having money already. Amy mentioned it a while ago - if he’d introduced himself as successful ex-NFL I reckon he would have been voted out much sooner. At least this way he got to play a bit.
