Brian Benben is an American actor best known for his starring television roles as Martin Tupper in Dream On (1990-1996) and as Dr. Sheldon Wallace in Private Practice, from 2008-2013.
Having portrayed Dr. Sheldon Wallace on Private Practice in a recurring capacity in the series' first two seasons, Benben joined the regular cast entering Season 4.
Benben starred in the hit Emmy-winning HBO series Dream On from 1990-1996. The series co-starred Wendie Malick and was executive-produced by John Landis, David Crane and Marta Kauffman. He then went on to star and serve as co-executive producer on the Fox series The Brian Benben Show.
Other television work includes the miniseries Kingpin, Conspiracy: The Trial of the Chicago 8, and The Gangster Chronicles: An American Story, as well as a series regular role on the medical drama Kay O'Brien.
Benben's movie roles include his starring turn in 1994's Radioland Murders, executive-produced by George Lucas, Mortal Sins and Clean and Sober. He also appeared on Broadway in the play Slab Boys.
Benben spends time both in Los Angeles and on his cattle ranch in Texas with his wife and children.
